Duane Phillips is the Vice President of Project Management for the Hydaker-Wheatlake Company. Duane oversees project execution including guiding and developing project management team, leading estimating group, and special projects team focusing on engineer/procure/contract projects. Duane joined Hydaker-Wheatlake in March 2018. He brings wealth of experience, which includes operations, construction management, design engineering, and project management for utility companies as well as engineering consultants and construction contractors. Educational background as electrician on nuclear generation and distribution systems. Following specialized technical education, Duane returned to more formal schooling focusing on electrical and nuclear engineering. Duane is recognized technical and construction project expert within the industry. He has authored and presented on numerous trade topics, and is a welcomed speaker and technical expert on industry topics. Duane is a highly decorated veteran of US Navy’s nuclear program, having served on submarines and through 4 wartime conflicts. He has served as adjunct college professor for advanced engineering and construction classes, and is a Master Training Specialist and Master Project Manager. Duane currently lives just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife Lisa. They have raised 3 children, while being active in the communities and charitable organizations. Duane & Lisa enjoy traveling, being outdoors, and spending times with friends and family.
