Shop Service Technician - MI

Crossroads Mobile Maintenance has an immediate opening for a Shop Service Technician at their Reed City location. Great Benefit Package.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of on- and off-road heavy duty trucks and equipment.
  • Engine Diagnostics.
  • DOT inspections and inspection/testing of equipment
  • Fabrication, including welding and machining of chassis and structural components
  • Maintain service records and other paperwork
  • Parts inventory control
  • Compliance with company and customer safety policies, capable of working safely and productively without constant supervision
  • CDL class A driver’s license, clean driving record, background check required
  • Computer Skills Necessary
  • Hydraulic and Electronic Repair is everyday work.

 

Experience in heavy duty trucks and equipment is desired. Must have own tools. Great benefit package.

 

Pay range for this position is $13.00-$33.00 and dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description

 

 

INTRODUCTION:

 

This Job Description establishes and describes the basic function, duties, responsibilities and education/experience requirements for the functional position of the Shop Service Technician of Crossroads Mobile Maintenance (CRMM) as assigned to that function by the Shop Service Manager. This position is considered an hourly position, the job requirements and your performance will dictate the required hours to complete the necessary tasks with possible overtime requirements per week. All overtime work shall be approved prior to performing outside of the regular pay.

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

The Shop Service Technician is responsible for his/her own tools, shop tools, customer’s property and company property. The Shop Technician will maintain Crossroads Mobile Maintenance’s strong focus on creating a culture of safety, integrity, passion, and intelligence.

 

The primary function and focus of CRMM is to facilitate Utility Asset Preventive Maintenance Program Development and Administration, Utility Truck and Equipment Parts Sales, Utility Asset Design, Fabrication and Up-fit, Utility Transport Service and Utility Service and Safety Training.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

 

The Shop Service Technician receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to, the Shop Service Manager for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.

 

The Shop Service Technician must maintain harmonious relationships with company employees and other individuals associated with ongoing business.

 

 

Job Qualifications

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 1 years’ experience in similar field
  2. 1 year’s knowledge of Class 1-8 Trucks or Trailers or Construction equipment
  3. Chauffer’s license and a clean driving record
  4. Have own tools (see tool list for minimum requirements)
  5. Basic computer skills
  6. High School diploma or equivalent

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Hydraulics troubleshooting and repair experience
  2. Electrical troubleshooting experience
  3. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  4. CDL and DOT medical card
  5. Associate’s Degree in Heavy Equipment Technology or Technical trade school certificate

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The principle duties and responsibilities of the Shop Service Technician consist of but are not limited to, the following:

 

  1. Perform preventative maintenance of on and off road light/medium/heavy duty trucks
  2. Perform preventative maintenance of on and off road aerial equipment
  3. Perform preventative maintenance of construction equipment
  4. Perform preventative maintenance of trailers
  5. Service customer units in the field, when required
  6. Diesel engine external repair work
  7. Gas engine external repair work
  8. Basic hydraulic and electronic repair
  9. Test operation of completed units
  10. Must be willing to attend all required training
  11. Observe and comply with government, CRMM, and our customers’ safety and security standards
  12. Capable of working without constant supervision
  13. Maintain your workspace, appearance, and housekeeping
  14. Must be willing to obtain all required tools
  15. Communicate with your supervisor and scheduler on a daily basis or as needed
  16. Act as a representative of CRMM and perform work in a professional manner
  17. Comply with reporting and paperwork details in a timely manner by turning it in at shift end.
  18. Must be able to work your scheduled shift hours and service calls when needed.
