Power Line Supply Company is a subsidiary of Utility Supply and Construction Company. As part of this utility focused holding company, Power Line Supply offers solutions and services unique in the industry.
Assist with the housekeeping, organization and general appearance of the warehouse and yard.
Assist with warehousing and tooling activities such as unloading, loading, stocking, receiving and inventory control.
Other general duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Associate receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to, Warehouse Supervisor for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities.
The Warehouse Associate has as the authority to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position, so long as such action does not deviate from established company policies and is consistent with sound business judgment.
The Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
The Warehouse Associate must maintain harmonious relationships with company employees, Sub-Contractors, General Contractors, Owners, and other individuals associated with ongoing activity in the Reed City yard
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Associate consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure their personal safety and well-being by following all safety policies, rules, and regulations of Power Line Supply.
Follow the directives of the Warehouse Supervisor for reoccurring duties to ensure excellent yard and warehouse housekeeping conditions.
As directed by the Warehouse Supervisor, assist with warehousing and tooling activities such as receipt of materials, stocking shelves and bins, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, and conducting inventory.
Unload goods as per client specifications.
Operate heavy machinery including Rough Terrain Forklifts, Forklifts.
Be proficient in use of PLS’ P21 ERP system.
Report any instance of mishap or accident to the supervisor and/or incident reporting hotline.
Ensure your availability to respond to Storm or Emergency work that may occur from time to time for proper support of customer’s needs.
Performs any other related or unrelated, unassigned, unspecified, unusual or special duty the Warehouse Supervisor may assign from time to time.
Maintains cooperative working relationships with all Utility Supply and Construction Company employees. This includes "inter" and "intra" departmental employees. Also included are all customers, contractors, owners, and suppliers.
Acts as a representative of Power Line Supply Company in the community.
Acts within the letter and spirit of the laws of the United States, the States and municipalities in which The Power Line Supply Company operates.
MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:
The Warehouse Associate shall be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following has been met and/or exceeded:
Working in a safe manner, with all proper PPE usage, following company guidelines, protecting fellow employees and recognizing and reporting hazardous conditions.
Arriving to work on time as scheduled, and completing daily tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Overall performance satisfaction of the Warehouse Supervisor.
Required: High School Degree or equivalent.
Required: Entry level position, however, previous work history a plus, and references required.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to learn departmental policies, quality standards procedures, and practices. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with internal customers and vendors. Must be able to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals. Able to demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity.
PHYSICAL: Includes standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing stairs, and the use of hands and arms to perform physical activities consistent with housekeeping in an outside yard or warehouse environment.
MENTAL: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must be able to work under time and budgetary pressures.
This person will work a majority of the time outside or inside in a non-climate controlled warehouse. It can be hot in the summer, cold in the winter, raining, hazardous, noisy, and dusty.
